I haven't posted much lately cause my host is upgrading things. So I don't know when you will see this either, but I have something to say. The thing with people being hit with hockey pucks.....First of all, there is a disclaimer on the back of the ticket, saying you are at risk. Second of all, the PA announcer TELLS you to watch for flying objects. Thirdly, if you don't want to die from a puck, wear a freakin helmet to the game! Don't make the sport make a major change just cause one spectator dies from one puck in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD! (I can't prove that).
I just bought a USB cable for my scanner for 99 cents! Gotta love eBay! The cheapest one I found at Best Buy seemed to be like $6.....hmmm.
Well, I just finished filling out my financial aid information for next year. I can't wait to find out how many tens of thousands of dollars I am going to need to loan for my 3 years of schooling ahead of me. Really, I can't.
Lately I've had the urge to sing in an acapella group. I remember when Josh, Tom and myself started one back in 11th grade. We only did one gig though. See...Josh started doing drugs, and that led to our demise. Tom and I just couldn't sing three-part harmony with only two people, it didn't work. What might have been... Now Josh is still smokin' reefer and Tom and I are without a gig!
I feel bad for the people that lose out on auctions because I outbid them minutes before the auction ends... Anyways, I got a steal of a deal on a KLH Center Channel Speaker for my home theater. No one around here carries the one I want....and it would cost me over $100 brand new. Thank God for eBay!
New Yorkers are so creative. Posters promoting Britney Spears HBO concert were all over the subways in NYC and now you can see them in all of their defaced glory! Apparently the grafitti artists don't like her.
I just got an e-mail from an acquaintence of mine who just got back from a trip to NYC. She said she "bumped" into Mike Tyson. Now...I don't know about you, but if I saw Mike Tyson, I would not try and bump into him. Even if it was an accident, I would run. I would run like the wind....what if he proceeded to bite my ear off....or....talk for that matter. I can't stand one second of the squeaky voice on tv, let alone in person. Hmmm...So I guess I hope I never "bump" into Mike Tyson. Yeah.
Looking for a better roll of t.p.? Look no further. Too bad it's only available in New York City.....
If you missed 9 | 11 on CBS tonight, you must see it. It was riveting. The only video footage shot inside the World Trade Center. Don't worry, there aren't any gross-out scenes. If you would like to see it, talk to me or e-mail me, and I will get you a copy. 3/12 -- nevermind, my VCR messed up...you can't borrow it.
SITE UPDATE: I decided to remove some content to this site because I am lazy and don't want to keep it up to date. Most people come here to read my weblog anyways, not see the other stuff. So there. I will try to keep the deal on the right current....
Tell me again why I live in this god-forsaken state? It took me two hours to blow the snow out of the driveway -- just so we could get our cars out. Wind gusts are 25 mph and the windchill is -6; and now my nose is bleeding. Just one more reason why I'm glad its my last winter here.
Hurry! Save Ted Koppel from late night extinction before its too late!!
Here we go again....Just when you think spring is right around the corner, ya get crapped on.
I just noticed that I never go to bed at like odd times. I mean, its always on the hour or half hour. Almost like I schedule my bedtimes. If it's 12:37, I have to wait until 1:00 to go to bed. Just a little factoid about yours truly (me).
To the faithful brenthellickson.com followers: I'm afraid I will need to start censoring the material herein this webpage. It seems as though many people at the office have discovered I have a website now. Something might come back to bite me in the beehind.... :)
Welp, I just got my new XM Radio installed and hooked up. Boy oh boy it is fun! If you want a demonstration, just let me know.
Don't tell anyone, but yesterday when we were moving my sister into her place, we were in the garage she shares with the neighbor. Well, curiosity got the best of me. I went over to that freezer and opened it up! I was hoping I would find some icy pops or something, but all that was in there was some chicken and vegetables.
Last night my sisters and brothers-in-law were staying over night because my oldest sister is moving up here today. Anyways, that meant I had to sleep on the floor again, and if you know my past history of sleeping on the floor, it means the risk of boxelder bugs crawling on me in the middle of the night. Reluctantly, I rolled out the sleeping bag and proceeded to fall asleep. I woke up every hour or so, fearing that something was crawling into my ear, mouth, nose or eyes. Nevertheless, I made it. No complications. Hopefully I get my bed back tonight. :)
Okay, I am gonna launch this baby right now. The only things left to do are the "Photos" sections, the main one and the Mandy Moore one. I will get to it. Also, my music listing isn't quite complete, but after typing in over 300 cds, I don't feel like finishing it right now. I hope y'all like my site....look to expect posts at least every other day and movie and music reviews weekly (hopefully).
The official launch of brenthellickson.com is only a few days away. My content is pretty much set, just need to finish up some loose ends. I'm not sure exactly if I want to have everything completed. I have a lot of other things to do this week besides write HTML. I think the only thing left I will do is complete my CD listing. The photos section as well as the completed Mandy section will have to wait. It's ok. I think I have done a good job.
Polygamy aside, congratulations Salt Lake! You made the world proud. Y'all like my countdown to Athens in the lower-left corner? :)
I just got back from my grandparents in central Wisconsin....60 degrees and blue skies. Five hours later, central Minnesota: Old Man Winter has taken a massive crap.
I can't believe I am saying this, or even that I watched it, but I loved Moulin Rouge.
I went to Black Hawk Down with a couple friends this evening. I was kind of disappointed. It was a great movie, but from everything I heard about it, I was expecting something else. It started kind of slow, I will say that. I guess it was just way over-hyped. I will still buy it on DVD when it comes out though.
I have to say, Creed rocked hardcore last night. Apparently this weenie didn't think so. He tries to compare Creed to Pearl Jam, U2, and Bon Jovi. Excuse me, all of those bands have been around for a decade or more, give 'em time dude. I would post pictures from the show, but I decided not to bring my camera, which was a good thing because there was heavy petting going on before anyone could enter the gate. Anyways, just for the record, Creed is an amazing band.
I'm glad the whole Olympic fiasco is resolved. It all still sucks though, never should have happened.
I just purchased www.brenthellickson.com. Thanks O L Z pat!!!
I had so many "nice pants" comments today at work, I had to make sure I wasn't wearing Dockers.
Now my email program is putting missing children ads in it. Oh well, its still better than Outlook Express.
The cover of the Toronto Sun read in big bold letters this morning: ROBBED! If you watched the pairs skating final last night, you too would have felt robbed. Jamie Sale and David Pelletier skated flawless, but the Russians win again. Seems we have some shady judges. Slimy ba$tards.
I'm not gonna post for awhile. Await the launch of a new website within a couple months or so. Some say that patience is a virtue.
CosmoGIRL has a message from Mandy Moore to use on your answering machine. I was thinking, cool, someone else can tell my peeps to leave a message for me instead of them hearing my voice all the time. Well, I downloaded it, but she says something like "Sorry, but your CosmoGIRL can't come to the phone right now.....blah blah." That's just great, they don't think any guys want to put it on their phones? Actually, maybe its good I can't use it now, cause people would definately put me in the obsessed category....if they haven't already. Anyways, there is a new article and photo spread of the aforementioned woman in the new issue of the aforementioned periodical, and I wanna get it. Can 19 year old men buy CosmoGIRL? I might just have to get it off of eBay, to save myself the embarassment.
I hesitate in posting this; but my oh my, what fun! [Disclaimer: Turds.]
Yes. I did it again. I couldn't help it! It's such a good movie. So non-Hollywood. Well, and, Mandy's in it. Come on. The count is up to two. I am slated to go on Saturday night again. Call me pathetic, call me a loser. Call me....anything you want. One thing is for certain, I won't be caught dead at Britney's new movie.
Today was a good day. I got accepted into Belmont University. I filed my tax return, and my refund is substantially larger than last years. Mandy Moore was the main guest on Kilborn. Hmm...thats it I guess. On the downside, I just started to feel a lump in my throat. I hope it doesn't escalate. Oh, one other thing, www.brentus.com is only weeks away.
My sister and I went to the matinee of A Walk to Remember today. We snatched a couple of the few seats left. It was a 1pm show! Why was it so packed? I didn't think this movie would be this popular. Hmm...thats ok though. Hopefully I get to go two more times. I suppose I will cry like a little girl each time, too.
Who would have thought A Walk to Remember would be sold out on opening night. It is so a teenie-bopper chick flick. Mandy, my dear, we will have to wait until the matinee tomorrow. Instead, I went to A Beautiful Mind. Wow. Simply amazing. Russell Crowe is a dink in my book, but man, can he act.
People at work made fun of me cause I am going to Mandy Moore's new movie (in theaters January 25th) with my mom. Screw em.
AHHHH! I so hate giving plasma. I need the money, but to me, it's not worth the pain and suffering. I need the money. Hmmm...maybe if I just not buy ANYTHING for like 6 months. Can I do it? Stay tuned.
Wow, I am on a posting kick. Anyways, here's a picture of Mike Myers and Byonce Knowles, from the upcoming Austin Powers 3. heheheheh I can't wait till it comes out.
My stupid employer is waiting until January 31 to mail out our W-2 forms. I guess I will just have to wait that much longer to get my XM Radio.
Why is it, that whenever someone is embarassed, some dillhole always has to say, "Look, [insert name here] is red!" Way to state the obvious, moron.
You'd think before I went over to someone's house to play games and all around hang out, that they would make it a point to tell me that two of my exes are there. Makes one wonder where loyalties lie. :)
Is it possible that Denny Green being fired was racially motivated? Who knows....One thing is for certain, if Jesse Jackson and the ACLU show up tomorrow morning, we can be sure it was.
E! Online News - Backstreet Boy Nick Carter Busted! Haha! It's about time!! 'NSync is one step closer to stealing every teenage girls heart in the world!
