I haven't posted much lately cause my host is upgrading things. So I don't know when you will see this either, but I have something to say. The thing with people being hit with hockey pucks.....First of all, there is a disclaimer on the back of the ticket, saying you are at risk. Second of all, the PA announcer TELLS you to watch for flying objects. Thirdly, if you don't want to die from a puck, wear a freakin helmet to the game! Don't make the sport make a major change just cause one spectator dies from one puck in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD! (I can't prove that).
I just bought a USB cable for my scanner for 99 cents! Gotta love eBay! The cheapest one I found at Best Buy seemed to be like $6.....hmmm.
Well, I just finished filling out my financial aid information for next year. I can't wait to find out how many tens of thousands of dollars I am going to need to loan for my 3 years of schooling ahead of me. Really, I can't.
Lately I've had the urge to sing in an acapella group. I remember when Josh, Tom and myself started one back in 11th grade. We only did one gig though. See...Josh started doing drugs, and that led to our demise. Tom and I just couldn't sing three-part harmony with only two people, it didn't work. What might have been... Now Josh is still smokin' reefer and Tom and I are without a gig!
I feel bad for the people that lose out on auctions because I outbid them minutes before the auction ends... Anyways, I got a steal of a deal on a KLH Center Channel Speaker for my home theater. No one around here carries the one I want....and it would cost me over $100 brand new. Thank God for eBay!
New Yorkers are so creative. Posters promoting Britney Spears HBO concert were all over the subways in NYC and now you can see them in all of their defaced glory! Apparently the grafitti artists don't like her.
I just got an e-mail from an acquaintence of mine who just got back from a trip to NYC. She said she "bumped" into Mike Tyson. Now...I don't know about you, but if I saw Mike Tyson, I would not try and bump into him. Even if it was an accident, I would run. I would run like the wind....what if he proceeded to bite my ear off....or....talk for that matter. I can't stand one second of the squeaky voice on tv, let alone in person. Hmmm...So I guess I hope I never "bump" into Mike Tyson. Yeah.
Looking for a better roll of t.p.? Look no further. Too bad it's only available in New York City.....
If you missed 9 | 11 on CBS tonight, you must see it. It was riveting. The only video footage shot inside the World Trade Center. Don't worry, there aren't any gross-out scenes. If you would like to see it, talk to me or e-mail me, and I will get you a copy. 3/12 -- nevermind, my VCR messed up...you can't borrow it.
SITE UPDATE: I decided to remove some content to this site because I am lazy and don't want to keep it up to date. Most people come here to read my weblog anyways, not see the other stuff. So there. I will try to keep the deal on the right current....
Tell me again why I live in this god-forsaken state? It took me two hours to blow the snow out of the driveway -- just so we could get our cars out. Wind gusts are 25 mph and the windchill is -6; and now my nose is bleeding. Just one more reason why I'm glad its my last winter here.
Hurry! Save Ted Koppel from late night extinction before its too late!!
Here we go again....Just when you think spring is right around the corner, ya get crapped on.
I just noticed that I never go to bed at like odd times. I mean, its always on the hour or half hour. Almost like I schedule my bedtimes. If it's 12:37, I have to wait until 1:00 to go to bed. Just a little factoid about yours truly (me).
To the faithful brenthellickson.com followers: I'm afraid I will need to start censoring the material herein this webpage. It seems as though many people at the office have discovered I have a website now. Something might come back to bite me in the beehind.... :)
Welp, I just got my new XM Radio installed and hooked up. Boy oh boy it is fun! If you want a demonstration, just let me know.
Don't tell anyone, but yesterday when we were moving my sister into her place, we were in the garage she shares with the neighbor. Well, curiosity got the best of me. I went over to that freezer and opened it up! I was hoping I would find some icy pops or something, but all that was in there was some chicken and vegetables.
Last night my sisters and brothers-in-law were staying over night because my oldest sister is moving up here today. Anyways, that meant I had to sleep on the floor again, and if you know my past history of sleeping on the floor, it means the risk of boxelder bugs crawling on me in the middle of the night. Reluctantly, I rolled out the sleeping bag and proceeded to fall asleep. I woke up every hour or so, fearing that something was crawling into my ear, mouth, nose or eyes. Nevertheless, I made it. No complications. Hopefully I get my bed back tonight. :)
